I was alone the ocean, floating naked on my back, and the water was black, dark, and very still except for the occasional ripple. The sky was at that point between afternoon and sunset, when it's a deep purple and everything is calm and peaceful, and the air is kind of heavy and full of life and wonder and deep contentment. I just remember feeling entirely at rest, still and silent and alone but not lonely. Suddenly, the feeling in the air shifted, and the sky darkened to a deep grey tone. Everything was no longer beautiful and calm, but dark and strange. I went from floating on my back, to treading water carefully, and I looked up to the sky and it was drizzling slightly. Then the water started moving, and as I looked around, jellyfish started rising up to the surface, and more continued to surface in every direction I turned until there was a thick sea of jellyfish as far as I could see. I tried to escape, but I was transfixed by their beauty, and didn't know what to do. Soon, they were lashing their stingers at me, and I was covered in red welts, but I was frozen, and couldn't move, because they captivated me. I snapped out of it when the pain finally hit me, and I started trying to find an escape route. But everywhere I turned, dozens more appeared in front of my eyes. I started feeling extremely helpless and alone, and I was so confused and lost, because i just couldn't wrap my mind around how something so beautiful could inflict so much pain. And that made me lose all faith in myself, and the world. I was screaming and wailing, and no matter what, I couldn't escape. So finally, I stopped my thrashing, and quieted completely. I closed my eyes, took one last breath, and sank into the ocean. Once I was down there, it was dark, and silent, and nothing and no one could bother me. And I remember a feeling of complete happiness washing over me, and It was peaceful and beautiful and I was free from everything and anything and there was nothing in my head except my own swirling thoughts. And then everything went black. This is only scary to me because of how happy I was to die.
